Chopsticks - The Exhibition
Chopsticks were commonly named “Zhu” in the past. Eating with chopsticks was the peculiar culture phenomenon of China and many other Asian countries. The discovery of archaeology shows that our ancestors have been used to eat with chopsticks made by bones in the Neolithic Age.
The same happened during the Pre-Qin up to Han dynasty. Then, this custom became a very important Chinese traditional etiquette. After Wei, Jin, Southern and Northern dynasties, the social function of the chopsticks became more useful. From Tang dynasty, chopsticks had spread from China to aboard. The exhibition includes very rare objects and chopsticks which belong to different ages and it tells the story of this important cultural object which is a peculiarity of China and Asia too.
