Chaozhou woodcarving represents a famous school of folk woodcarving in China, with great popularity in the Eastern Guangdong areas.
In 2006, Chaozhou woodcarving was officially recognized as one of the First Batch of China Intangible Cultural Heritage.
From different angles, the exhibition shows the unique artistic value and profound culture of Chaozhou woodcarving.
The exhibition is divided in five parts, including the origin, the fabrication, the art, the use and the appreciation of Chaozhou woodcarvings. By showing more than 120 pieces from a precious collection, integrated with multimedia contents, this exhibition will enable the audience to fully appreciate the unique artistic charm and deep cultural connotation of Chaozhou woodcarving.
Exhibition Requirements
The exhibition space is about 700 ㎡ the exhibition route shall be 150-180 meters long.
Sealed showcases with constant temperature and humidity are required. The temperature shall be 20℃±2℃ and the humidity 65%±2%.
