The Chinese Export Art in the Qing Dynasty

With the implementation of the Emperor Qianlong’s "One Port Policy" during the Qing Dynasty, Canton became the trade center between China and foreign countries and a base for making and converging Chinese export art. In the 18th and 19th centuries, the Chinese art was popular among the upper class in the European and American societies. We select about 90 pieces/sets of fine arts in this exhibition to show the Chinese art exported to the western countries during that time. The exhibits include the export products of Canton embroidery, Guangcai porcelain, Canton carving, Export painting, Export fan, Export silver and Export lacquer.
